Over the course of a very short period of time, she had been engaged in the battle against the sickness that caused cancer. She had been preceded in death by a number of people who had a strong fondness for her. These individuals had passed away before she did. My father, her eldest son, and a few other people were among those who contributed to this group. She never missed a chance to tell me that she loved me and that she was proud of me, despite the fact that our relationship was difficult. My mother and I had a difficult relationship. She did this despite the fact that our relationship was a source of contention.
My brothers and I are quite grateful that we were able to spend some time with our mother during her final days, and that she is no longer in any pain. I am pleased that she is no longer suffering.
